Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, denies ceasefire in new video

The leader of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnal, lil Daawati wal Jihad, otherwise known asBoko HaramAbubakar Shekau, has denied that the extremist sect was in dialogue with the government of Borno state, and had agreed to a ceasefire.

Mr. Shekau spoke in a new video message sent to journalists in Maiduguri, barely a week after a self-acclaimed leader of the group, Abu Abdulazeez, said he had Mr. Shekau’s backing to announce a ceasefire.
