The Federal Government has called on the global community and international oil companies to drop their appetite for stolen crude oil from Nigeria.
It also urged the IOCs to join in the fight against the nefarious activities of oil thieves and pipeline vandals, which were a growing menace against the smooth operation of the oil and gas sector in the state.
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, who was represented by the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Andrew Yakubu, said it was imperative to halt the appetite for stolen crude oil from Nigeria if the country must make appreciable progress in that regard.
A statement from the NNPC said the minister made the call at the ongoing Offshore Technology Conference, in Houston, United States.
