Why government can’t curb oil theft – NLC

NIGERIA Labour Congress, NLC, has said government efforts at checking crude oil theft in the country, has yielded minimal result because of involvement of top government officials, military officers, businessmen, politicians with their local and foreign collaborators.

This came as NLC advised the Federal Government to transparently address the pending labour issues in reforms and privatization of the power sector to avoid unpleasant consequences.

Leaders of NLC at the end of their National Executive,Council NEC meeting in Kaduna, told government to re-examine its hasty surrender of the economy to neo- liberal forces as expectations of economic expansion, job-led growth, improved operating environment and so on had not been met.
