MOU Signing Between Integrity and ICPC
Another notable achievement was the signing of the MOU between Integrity Organization and ICPC. Realising that there is apathy from the citizens in reporting corrupt cases on our egunje.info platform and even alerting relevant authorities on corruption, Integrity saw the necessity to work with the ICPC to give confidence to citizens who may want to report corruption that their case if valid has a chance of possible investigation and prosecution. This answers the question of “what next” for citizens who decide to report on the egunje.info platform with valid evidence of corruption.
As part of the collaboration Integrity will provide technical assistance to the commission in three areas –
- Public engagement-linking with pressure groups and organized professional association, social media engagement through Facebook, Twitter etc. and other advocacy campaigns which Integrity maybe undertaking.
- Corruption prevention through trends analysis of report from the egunje.info site, transparent systems for monitoring of cases submitted by public to the commission and Corruption Risk Assessment/Integrity Plans for pressure groups
- Investigation and Prosecution through the automation of the petition submission process via egunje.info and corruption reports made through egunje.info.
