The Management of Norwegian oil firm , Statoil has resumed work on Amenas gas plant in Algeria which was attacked by Islamic militants, leading to the death of over 40 oil workers in 2013. The company has agreed that resumption on the plant would be on rotational basis.
Statoil says that its management had approved the return of temporary work to the plant as at June 2014, “to finalise the implementation of the outstanding security requirements. Other partners withdrew their staff after an attack by Islamic militants led to the death of 40 workers at the plant in January 2013. Read more
