What Democracy Dividend?

Government was born to promote sustainable development in ways that reduce disparities in security, income and well-being, education and opportunity amongst its citizens. Thus, individuals in a society give up their will in exchange for good governance.
This is the social contract, the raison d’etre for government. Nigerians entered into such a contract with president Obasanjo’s government on May 29, 1999.
